Council's Challenge
Before Attekus Bookable, Greater Dandenong was managing bookings and events across multiple outdated systems, supported by heavily manual processes.
This resulted in: Inconsistent booking procedures across venues
- Customer data duplicated across systems
- Heavy reliance on emails, paper forms and Outlook calendars
- Limited reporting and poor visibility of utilisation
- Finance teams needing to cross-check data across multiple systems
The experience varied by venue and service, creating inefficiency for staff and friction for customers.
The Approach
Folllowing a full tender process, Greater Danenong selected Attekus Bookable as an enterprise solution adopting modules for:
- Bookings
- Event management
- Event registration and ticketing
- Central customer records
The goal was to replace fragmented systems with a single source of truth that could scale across council while supporting different venue and event complexities.
Tangible Outcomes
Attekus Bookable is now live across:
- 22 cultural and community venues, including theatres, community hubs, halls and staff-only internal rooms
- Event and program registrations, including theatre shows, arts and cultural programs, library and community hub programs, and heritage tours
A major improvement came from online Expressions of Interest, allowing regular hirers to submit full-year booking requests.
- Staff can now process annual bookings in five minutes
- This has saved significant administrative time for both council teams and hirers
- Regular hirers gain ownership and clarity over their bookings
What’s Next
Greater Dandenong is continuing to expand its use of Attekus Bookable, with plans to include:
- Sporting facilities
- Community bus bookings
- Busking permits
- Staff RSVPs and internal events

- Gift vouchers
- Display screen integrations across venues
